Omnidirectional Antenna 698~868/1850~2690MHz 2.0dBi

We stock this antenna with connector options:  MCX and SMA-male connector at the end of a cable from a magnetic base. If you need another connector type, please contact Customer Service: We can accommodate customization requests for volume purchases.

Compatibility with wireless standards & applications : This omni directional antenna's range of frequency band compatibility in the 698~868/1850~2690MHz frequency band range, its very low broadband VSWR at < 2.0 (lower VSWR is better), and impedance matching to 50 Ohm gear, makes it suitable and compliant for all the following applications:

Omni directional dipole antenna: Radiates signal with a beam of 360 degrees; also receives signal from 360 degrees around it.

Features & applications

  • As access point antenna: Provides signal to clients in any direction (360-degree horizontal beamwidth )
  • As client antenna: Connect to an access point in any direction.

TEST RESULTS for FREQUENCY RANGES:

report antenna

The antenna was evaluated in the frequency range of approximately 862 to 960 MHz, showing stable and consistent RF behavior throughout the measured band. At the upper measurement point near 960 MHz, the system presents a VSWR of approximately 1.66:1 with a Return Loss of about −12.1 dB, indicating a good impedance match and moderate reflection levels. At 862 MHz, the measured VSWR is approximately 2.13:1 with a Return Loss of −8.9 dB, which still represents acceptable performance within the lower edge of the band.

Frequency range Assessment Rating Technical performance details
862–960 MHz Stable Low-Band Performance ★★★★ RF performance evaluated across the 862–960 MHz band, showing consistent impedance behavior and controlled reflection levels throughout the frequency sweep.
At 960 MHz, the measured VSWR is approximately 1.66:1 with a Return Loss close to −12.1 dB, indicating good impedance matching and moderate reflection levels. At 862 MHz, the VSWR is approximately 2.13:1 with a Return Loss of about −8.9 dB, which still represents acceptable performance near the lower edge of the band. The Smith chart trajectory shows a compact and controlled impedance variation around the center region, confirming stable RF behavior and impedance close to the 50 Ω reference across the evaluated frequency range.

ROHS 3 & REACH compliant: Antenna, cable and connector are all compliant with regulatory requirements.

MCX Connector Characteristics and Details:

  • MCX (micro coaxial) connectors are coaxial RF connectors that have a snap-on interface and a 50 Ohm impedance . They offer broadband capability from DC to 6 GHz. The contact surfaces are gold-plated. They have the same inner contact and insulator dimensions as the SMB connector but are 30% smaller.
  • MCX is the external antenna port for Apple Airport Extreme Base Station. MCX and the smaller MMCX version are frequently used to connect external antennas to GPS receivers. They are also common on USB DVB-T tuners for computers and laptops, to connect an external antenna to the tuner. The outer diameter of the MCX male is approximately 3.6 mm or 0.140 inch. MCX male is also called MCX plug.3
